Tomorrow will be the first Presidential debate between President Trump and former VP Joe Biden – taking place in Cleveland, Ohio and hosted by Fox News anchor, Chris Wallace. During today’s podcast we discuss the potential outcomes and various scenarios of tomorrow evening’s event. However, what we stress the most during our conversation today are the structural issues facing the country, and if any of these topics will be addressed. We imagine that a couple will be noted, but we’re not holding our breath that brilliant policies will be mentioned either. In fact, we believe that some of the biggest issues will not even me mentioned – such as the Federal Reserve and their policies; the bankruptcies and insolvencies that are waiting in the wings; the national debt – but more specifically, the question of, “do debts and deficits matter, and if yes, why, and if not, why not?” Are the candidates concerned about inflation, stagflation, or hyperinflation? Are they concerned with a stock market at record levels, with respect to valuations? Are they concerned with the solvency of the US Treasury? Or what about the millions of evictions that are likely coming down the pike once the moratoriums are lifted? These are some basic questions and concepts that need to be addressed and taken seriously, but something tells us that they’re barely going to receive a mention and even if they are – the candidates will not likely address them head-on. This is a failure of leadership – but with all this said, The Kapital News hopes to be proven wrong – that these questions will be asked and that they will be thoughtfully and thoroughly answered. Since the President wanted to sign executive orders to extend unemployment benefits and to suspend the payroll tax cut, among others, which is unconstitutional, we wanted to discuss the unfunded liability situation in the US. The payroll tax is responsible for funding the social security fund as well as that of medicare. Understand that at this juncture, the payroll tax cut is really just a suspension, meaning that the tax will have to be paid at a later date – by the tax deadline in 2021. This could prove to be a big shock to many people who may decide to spend the extra income as oppose to saving it. Of course, many employers will be hesitant to comply with this executive order since it is unconstitutional and because it will likely cause obstacles with respect to their bookkeeping. But hey, it’s an election year, so who cares about the details and the US Constitution?

In other news, we also discuss the decision by the Lebanese government today to resign their post. The weakest link of any chain is the first to break and the dominoes are set as we continue to see countries in economic collapse and others on the brink. The global protests and riots that were occurring prior to COVID-19 were not and are not transitory, but rather history in the making. They will continue and likely escalate as we continue through 2020 and beyond. The world is lacking leadership and direction. Governments are unaccountable and corrupt and central bankers are in a currency war to the bottom where the true costs of these fraudulent acts are borne by the people – and the lower on the income scale, the worse the effects. People around the world are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and thus we are witnessing history in the making with these global protests. Some are violent, some will turn violent, others will demand government resignations, others will overthrow their governments, civil war(s) may ensue, as wars between nations. Let us pray for a peaceful resolution, but if current policies are implemented, then we are sealing our fate to a dim future. The printing of funny-money, the tweets from politicians, and the distractions from the mainstream media are sure to make anyone go mad if they’re truly paying attention. Well safe to say for most that they’re content being distracted by the noise of politicians, central bankers, and the media. Meanwhile, we’re taxed to death, face ever-increasing costs with respect to rent, home prices, autos, insurance, education, food, and energy – you know, the things we use everyday. Let’s not focus our attention on the real issues and the real people and institutions causing them – no, rather, let’s focus on Presidential nonsense along with four lunatic Congresswomen and whether or not they should stay in this country or leave it all together. Let’s not focus on $23,000,000,000,000 in national debt, or Social Security and Medicare, or endless wars and nation-building, or the income tax, or the Federal Reserve. No! Let’s instead focus on pea-brains and their lunacy and a reality-tv nightmare. Welcome to the USA in the 21st century. Time for a new Declaration of Independence! #1776 #2019

It was round II this evening for the 2020 Democratic contenders. Pretty much the same song and dance as yesterday’s debate. This is to be expected as there are twenty candidates and still very early on in the campaign. Over time, the field will get smaller and the debates will be sharper and hopefully more about specifics than just talking points. One of the main takeaways from tonight’s debate was the discussion on automation and artificial intelligence. This was brought up by former tech executive, Andrew Yang. While there was not an in-depth discussion, it was nevertheless addressed. The Kapital News believes there needs to be a national conversation on this topic because while it may be easy to blame illegal immigrants and the Chinese for “taking” away jobs – we have to ask ourselves, what about technological advancements? If robots, computers, and 3-D printers displace millions of workers – how will those jobs “come back?” Serious questions and they deserve serious answers.

No surprise to us here, but a recent report is out highlighting the financial stress that exists within Social Security and Medicare. Over the course of the next decade, these programs will be insolvent. This is a direct result of our demographics and the aging population. In addition, the state of the economy is on a “record” run, so the question is, how much steam remains in the engine, because a slowdown, minor or major, will only place further strains on these programs and others. Also, where’s the leadership on these topics?
