Tonight concludes the Republican National Convention with the keynote speaker being that of President Trump where he accepted the nomination from the Republican party. The President stuck to the script, attempting to come off as inspirational and rational, while keeping an even tone. The President has delivered speeches like this before where one would be inclined to believe that the President is rising to the demands of the job and with it a message more of unity than division. The unfortunate reality, however, is that this kind of speech has been given before, only for the President to revert to his old tactics and antics – further dividing the country. The key takeaway from the speech was that what is going on in this country is, “Biden’s America.” And if Biden is elected, then the problems will only get worse. The President even mentioned several items, such as an increase in depression, suicides, and other health issues if the Democrats win. The problem of course with this argument is that the protests, riots, economic decline, and health issues, are already taking place under “Trump’s America.” This is a hard circle to square, but this is politics and the truth be damned. This is classic blame your opponent of that which you are guilty of and repeat, repeat, and repeat it again. The Kapital News told you that these were political performances. That these conventions were more akin to three-ringed circuses, and that the structural issues were not going to be addressed. Well, those structural concerns were not discussed and now we will be paying dearly as a result.
